STUD HISTORY

Tullamore Park Texel Stud

  • Tullamore Park was founded in 1993 by Barrie & Josie Knight.
  • Tullamore park has played a major role in establishing texels with the purchase of 168 embryos from Lamb XL New Zealand and all six genetic family lines represented. (four Danish & two Finnish lines)

Barrie & Josie were unable to continue the running of the stud and with their strong commitment to Texels they sought the Russell family in 1998 to continue the Tullamore Park breeding program in partnership. Tullamore Park Texels moved to Donald where it was run side by side with Banyandah Texels, and continued with embryo transfer and AI selecting quality Ewes and sires.
  • In 2005 Pete, Liz, James & Hannah took over ownership, joining Tullamore Park and Banyandah as one, keeping the Tullamore Park name and foundation stud Flock 21.
